Ratio

Subtype of Delta Def

The delta risk is defined as the ratio (P'-P)/s, where P is the npv of the referenced product before the market shift, P' is the npv after the market shift and s is the market shift.
For very small s, this is obviously close to the derivative of the product's price with respect to the market quote that is being shifted.
